Heathrow Airport Things to Do

Located to the west of downtown London, Heathrow Airport is the world's premier airport destination. Welcoming a large population of more than 65 million travellers each year, Heathrow Airport has become one of the most iconic airports in the world. Its exciting approach and take-off procedures add to the fascinating culture of the airport, and with cheap Heathrow Airport hotels just a few minutes from the facility, visitors can easily reach accommodation if required.

The easiest mode of transportation to Heathrow Airport is by train. There are several rail services to the airport, including Tube and open-air train services. Buses and cars are another popular option for travelling to Heathrow Airport.

Whether visitors to the airport are business travellers or tourists, Heathrow Airport is one of the most enjoyable airports in the Europe. There are plenty of things to see and do while waiting for flights to depart.

1.    Be Relax: one of the most exciting parts of Heathrow Airport is its terminal facilities. There is so much to see and do. One of the busiest stores in the airport is Be Relax, a spa treatment and massage service. There are courses people can take that last for only a few minutes, to a few hours. So, it doesn't really matter how long passengers are planning on staying in Heathrow Airport, because at Be Relax, there is something for everyone.

2.    Duty Free: are there any two words in the English language sweeter than duty free? If there is, patrons of the airport don't really want to hear it. The duty free section at Heathrow Airport is packed with goodies and bargains that attract thousands of people everyday. Bags, belts, clothes, jewelry, liquor, and much more can be purchased at generally cheaper prices than elsewhere.

3.    Restaurants galore: Heathrow Airport has a reputation for providing passengers with the largest range of restaurants in the United Kingdom. There are some tremendous restaurants available in the terminal, including some of the world's most renowned fast food joints. However, there is a great range of dining options for patrons to enjoy too. Lounges, bars and pubs can also be found in the airport, and are the perfect spots to laze back, watch some sport or simply strike up a conversation with another.

4.    Escape into Cyberspace: Heathrow Airport has a variety of ways for patrons to access the internet. The terminals have wireless internet, so passengers with laptops can access the web while they wait at their departure gate. If passengers don't have a laptop, it is possible to find some of the computer areas that are cordoned off in the terminals and jump on the internet that way. When walking through Heathrow Airport, many thousands of passengers can be seen using the internet on a regular basis.

5.    Laze in a lounge: there are several lounges that patrons can use at Heathrow Airport, and they are not just for the first class passengers. Servisair provides patrons with a services area of lounges, television, food, drinks, reading material and business services. However, getting into the lounge requires an entrance ticket, which can be purchased within Heathrow Airport.

6.    Rest in the Yotel: the Yotel is an onsite hotel that offers very cheap accommodation for patrons. Why wait in the busy terminal for a flight when patrons can purchase a Yotel room for as little as four hours, or overnight, and rest while the airport continues to operate around them. The rooms are not overly expensive, and there are several types of rooms available, from single rooms to the larger double rooms with ensuite bathrooms.
